Position: MIG Welder

Location: Northampton

Hourly Rate: up to £16 per hour (depending on experience)

Contract: Temp to perm

Shift Pattern:
Days:
7 am – 3:30 pm (Monday to Thursday) & 7 am – 3 pm (Friday)

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out MIG welding on a range of stainless steel and ferrous components (approx. 90% stainless, 10% mild steel).
  • Work with material thicknesses ranging from 1.2mm – 3.0mm, with particular focus on 1.2mm – 1.5mm.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings (1st and 3rd angle).
  • Use tools including grinders, orbital sanders, saws and forming equipment.
  • Perform fabrication work and light gauge TIG welding, including back purging where required.
  • Take projects from start to finish, checking your own work to tight tolerances.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in MIG welding and fabrication is essential.
  • Familiarity with TIG welding, sheet metal and machining processes is a bonus.
  • Comfortable reading engineering drawings and working independently or as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated with high attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
