We’re recruiting for a permanent Test Technicians at a trusted materials testing facility near Banbury, Oxfordshire. This is a structured, long-term role where you’ll learn how to set up and run tests on metal components used in aerospace, automotive, energy and industrial applications.

The Role:

Job Title: Test Technician
Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire
Salary: £27,400 per annum to start
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:30–17:00 (some flexibility once trained)
Progression Opportunity: Structured pathway from Level 1 to Level 3 with pay rises built in

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Setting up and running mechanical tests: tensile, fatigue, creep, compression and more
  • Recording and validating test data for official safety certification
  • Following detailed procedures with high accuracy and repeatability
  • Supporting the team with equipment handling and lab processes
  • Working closely with experienced technicians and engineers in a collaborative environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • A practical mindset and good attention to detail
  • Confidence using tools, machinery or testing equipment
  • Comfortable working with physical materials in a lab or workshop setting
  • Some exposure to technical, mechanical or engineering environments (lab, college, workshop or factory)
  • A strong work ethic and interest in developing technical skills over time
