Position: HGV Mechanic
Hours: Monday to Friday 6am – 2:30 pm / 12pm to 8:30 pm (rotating weekly)
Pay: £18 – £22 per hour + Regular Overtime (Saturday Mornings) + Call Out Bonuses
Location: For a Transport Business in Droitwich
Benefits: Daily tool allowance, company pension and life assurance, free on site parking and much more
Company Overview:
Join a well established, family run transport and logistics business operating out of a modern, well equipped depot in Droitwich. This company manages a fleet of over 60 HGVs and trailers, including Mercedes and DAF vehicles, ranging from 3.5T to 44T.
With strong values, long standing customer relationships, and a real focus on keeping their vehicles in top condition, they’re looking to add an experienced HGV Mechanic to the team. You’ll be joining a stable, well supported environment where your experience will be valued, and your input welcomed.
Responsibilities:
- Carrying out periodic safety inspections, servicing, and routine maintenance
- Preparing and presenting vehicles for MOT
- Diagnosing faults and completing repairs across HGVs and trailers
- Maintaining workshop cleanliness, stock levels, and safety standards
- Completing paperwork and inspections in line with VOSA and company policy
- Working a rotating shift pattern with every other Saturday morning cover
What we’re looking for:
- Experience as an HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician / Fitter
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
- Valid HGV Licence (to drive to MOT test centres)
- Strong diagnostic and fault finding skills
- Confident with trailers, inspections, and MOT prep
