Role: Credit Controller / Customer Account Administrator
Contract: Permanent Contract
Location: Minworth, Sutton Coldfield B76
Hours of Work: 8.30am – 5.00pm – Mon – Fri
Salary: £30,000pa (Rising to £33,000pa after successful probation)
The role is responsible for managing a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring accurate administration of customer data, efficient processing of account changes, and timely collection of outstanding balances. This is a hands on role combining credit control, customer account administration, and strong Excel and system capability.
The role will have an approximate split of 50% customer account administration / 50% credit control.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Credit Control:
- Own a ledger of accounts and take responsibility for cash collection.
- Conduct proactive telephone and email chasing to reduce overdue debt.
- Monitor payment patterns and identify risks or potential issues.
- Prepare weekly/monthly debtor reports and escalate concerns where required.
Customer Account Administration:
- Maintain customer account records, pricing, terms, and credit limits.
- Process new account setups, changes, and closures.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve queries promptly.
- Manage customer statements, remittances, and documentation.
Data & Systems (Excel/Admin Focus):
- Use Excel to analyse customer data, produce reports, and track performance.
- Maintain accurate records in the ERP/finance system.
- Support month end close activity related to AR.
What We’re Looking For:
- Customer facing experience
- Experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or finance administration.
- Working with multiple currencies
- Very good understanding of Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Technically competent on Excel – VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP/Pivots/Reconciliation
- Excellent professional communication skills – face to face, email & telephone
- The ability to explain financial matters firmly and clearly
- To be able to read and understand financial reports for recommending credit limits
