Role: Finance Manager
Location: Leicester, LE5 (office based with occasional travel to Ireland)
Salary: Up to £65,000, plus benefits package
Contract: Permanent

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Financial Leadership & Reporting: Prepare and present monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, cash flow, forecasts) for Board meetings, highlighting trends, variances and actionable insights.
  • Business Oversight: Ensure all departments align with growth objectives, maintaining profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Team Management & Development: Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, ensuring a robust department structure and high performance.
  • Accounting & Compliance: Manage statutory accounts, audits, VAT returns, annual budgets and financial statements in line with accounting standards and best practice.
  • Cashflow & Asset Management: Oversee debtors, creditors, stock valuation, fixed assets and supplier payments, ensuring healthy cashflow and accurate reporting.
  • Strategic Support: Provide senior management with accurate, timely financial information to inform decision-making, including forecasts, ad-hoc analysis and investment reviews.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with Directors, Operations, Sales and Supply Chain to align finance with business objectives.
  • Commercial Oversight: Monitor large purchases, exchange rates and company liabilities, ensuring optimal profitability and financial governance.

What We’re Looking For:

  • ACCA, CIMA or equivalent accounting qualification; ideally with a business or accounting degree.
  • Proven experience in finance management, ideally in distribution or a similar industry.
  • Strong IT literacy, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • High attention to detail, commercial awareness and a proactive, hands-on approach.
  • Experience with financial systems implementation, change management and group structures advantageous.
