Job: Sales Estimator
Pay: Up to £40,000 per year
Location: Leicester
Contract Type: Full-time, permanent position
A well-established and respected precision engineering company based in Leicester is seeking a talented Sales Estimator to join their commercial team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who not only understands estimating but also thrives on building client relationships and spotting opportunities for growth.
What you’ll be doing:
- Prepare accurate and timely quotes for machining and engineering projects
- Analyse customer specifications, technical drawings and requirements
- Liaise with production to ensure feasibility and capacity planning
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients, identifying upselling opportunities
- Proactively pursue new business and convert inbound enquiries into sales
- Manage the full lifecycle from enquiry to quote and follow-up
- Track and report on quoting activity, conversion rates and account performance
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as an Estimator or Sales Estimator in manufacturing, engineering, print, signage, or a similar sector
- Strong understanding of production processes, costings and technical requirements
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Commercial mindset with the ability to grow and nurture accounts
- Comfortable reading technical drawings and liaising with production teams
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects at once
- A team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving
