Experienced Saw Operator looking for a better-paid rotating shift role?

We’re recruiting for a Saw / Machine Operator to join a busy manufacturing environment on a rotating shift pattern. This is a full-time, permanent role with strong benefits and a solid shift allowance. Experience is essential. If you’re precise, safety-focused, and comfortable working to drawings, this will suit you down to the ground.

Job Title: Saw Operator
Location: Minworth
Hours: Rotating shifts, 40 hours per week

Week 1:
6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday to Friday

Week 2:
1:30pm – 12:00am, Monday to Wednesday
1:30pm – 11:30pm, Thursday

Salary: £31,007.60 per annum
(£27,497.60 basic + £15 shift allowance)
Contract: Full time, permanent

Your Responsibilities:

  • Operate band saw machinery safely and efficiently
  • Follow drawings and work orders to cut materials to size and thickness
  • Check materials before cutting, including spec, alloy, grain direction and lot numbers
  • Inspect first-off pieces and carry out ongoing quality checks using tape, micrometers and callipers
  • Stamp and label finished components correctly
  • Carry out daily housekeeping around the saw and work area
  • Complete daily maintenance and productivity checks
  • Assist with stock takes when required
  • Operate fork trucks and jib cranes when needed
  • Manual handling up to 20kg

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Machine / Saw Operator
  • Band saw experience is highly advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good understanding of cutting specifications and tolerances
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced factory environment
  • Reliable team player with clear communication skills
