With a strong order book and a reputation for reliability, they’re now looking for a Senior Test Technician to take ownership of pressure and function testing on bespoke products used across mobile, marine, and industrial sectors.
You’ll work with a variety of bespoke assemblies and play a key role in quality assurance, ensuring each product meets performance and safety standards.
Job Title: Senior Test Technician – Hydraulics & Precision Engineering
Salary & Benefits: £40,000 – £45,000 (depending on experience) Overtime + Benefits including Private Medical Insurance
Location: Southam, West Midlands
Hours and Shifts: Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM to 17:00 PM | 16:00 PM Finish on Fridays
Duties:
You’ll lead the hydraulic testing area, working from circuit diagrams to create procedures and oversee the safe, accurate testing of complex assemblies.
- Write step by step test procedures from scratch based on hydraulic schematics
- Prepare test rigs with hoses, valves, gauges, cylinders, and other kit
- Perform hydraulic pressure and function tests on finished products
- Oversee and guide technicians during testing
- Investigate faults and resolve technical issues on the spot
- Sign off test certificates and maintain all testing equipment
- Support general assembly and production as required
What We’re Looking For:
This role suits a hands-on technician with a strong understanding of hydraulic systems and experience in manufacturing or testing.
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic circuit diagrams
- Background in testing, assembly, or mechanical build work
- Familiar with gauges, couplings, and pressure testing rigs
- Quality focused and confident signing off certificates of conformity
- Positive communicator and able to lead by example
- Familiarity with ISO9001 standards and test documentation
- A full driving licence is required
Qualifications like an HNC or NFPC are a bonus but if you’ve got the experience and mindset, you’ll be considered.
