The Role:
Job Title: SHEQ Manager – Quality, Safety and Compliance
Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire
Salary: £45,293 per annum + Excellent Benefits
Hours: 8:30am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday (some flexibility around audit periods)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
What You’ll Be Doing:
You’ll be the key stakeholder overseeing ISO/IEC 17025 and Nadcap compliance, while driving internal audit performance, SHE practices, supplier qualification and continuous improvement. This is a strategic leadership role with real scope to influence the culture and performance of the business. Key focus areas include:
Quality Management & Compliance
- Maintain and improve the QMS in line with ISO/IEC 17025, Nadcap, and customer-specific standards
- Manage internal audits and support external assessments
- Lead CAPA management and document control activities
- Maintain approved supplier lists and qualification records
Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
- Conduct risk assessments and accident investigations
- Promote safe working practices and oversee SHE training
- Ensure legal compliance and manage environmental performance metrics
Lab Operations & Equipment Integrity
- Oversee calibration, verification, and maintenance of lab equipment
- Ensure quality and safety standards across technical areas
Training & Data Integrity
- Maintain the company’s training matrix and run SHEQ training sessions
- Lead proficiency testing, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Champion best practices in document and data control
Skills and Experience Required:
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience in quality, safety or SHEQ management role
- Strong knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and ideally Nadcap
- Experienced in internal auditing, RCA, supplier quality & CAPA
- Clear, organised communicator with strong documentation skills
- Competent with Microsoft Office and QMS tools
Desirable:
- Degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a technical field
- SHE qualifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, etc.)
- Experience managing SHEQ in lab-based and operational environments
