Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)
Location:
Coventry
Salary: £38,000 – £43,000 per year (depending on experience)
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 6 am to 3 pm
Benefits: 22 days holiday + bank holidays, pension scheme, private healthcare, free parking, and substantial overtime options at 1.3x, 1.5x, and 2x rates

Training:
Begin with refresher courses in Spill Kit, Confined Spaces, Abrasive Wheels, and Ladder Safety, with additional opportunities for mechanical and electrical training as your role advances. Bespoke courses in welding, compliance, and health and safety are also available to support your growth.

Recognition You Can Expect:
You’ll report to an Engineering Manager with an “open door” policy who offers on-the-spot rewards for improvement ideas. Engineers at this company frequently receive vouchers for suggestions that enhance Health & Safety, reduce downtime, or boost teamwork.

Career Progression Opportunities:
With recent growth from a 4-person team to 10 engineers across four sites, this company anticipates further expansion to 20 engineers within the next year, opening career advancement opportunities to Team Leader roles.

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct PPM and reactive maintenance to minimize downtime across the plant.
  • Diagnose and repair machinery breakdowns, ensuring quick turnarounds.
  • Replace, refurbish, and repair parts, including hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, motors, and switches.
  • Perform fault finding on Siemens PLCs.
  • Maintain and repair conveyors, CNC machinery, and packaging equipment.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong background in electrical systems and fault finding.
  • Experience with mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • PLC fault-finding skills (Siemens preferred).
  • Ability to read engineering and schematic diagrams.
  • Formal training through an apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 qualifications (or equivalent).
