Job Title: Laser Setter / Operator

Location: Northampton
Pay: £13.50 – £14.50 per hour
Contract: Permanent position from day 1
Shift: Mon – Thurs 7:00am – 3:30pm | Fri 7:00am – 3:00pm

This is an opportunity to join fantastic Northampton precision sheet metal manufacturer with over 50 years of consistent growth and reinvestment behind them.

They supply high quality stainless, aluminium and mild steel fabrications across the UK and Europe. Machines are maintained. Standards are high. The workshop is organised.

You’ll be working on Amada CNC laser and punch/laser combination machinery in a structured, quality driven environment where setting ability is valued, not rushed.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing:

  • Setting and operating Amada CNC laser machines
  • Working from engineering drawings and job instructions
  • Completing first offs and in process inspections
  • Checking tolerances using measuring equipment
  • Monitoring production runs for quality and efficiency
  • Carrying out routine machine checks and basic fault finding
  • Loading and unloading sheet material safely

This is proper hands on setting responsibility, not just pressing start.

What You’ll Need:

  • Proven experience as a Laser Setter / Operator
  • Experience setting Amada CNC laser machinery
  • Confidence using measuring equipment
