Salary: £27,600 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 5:00pm
Contract: Full Time | Permanent
Are you organised, proactive and the person everyone relies on to keep things running smoothly?
We’re looking for someone who takes ownership, stays on top of the details and doesn’t need chasing to get things done.
This is an opportunity to join an established specialist materials testing business in Banbury, working in a busy technical environment where good communication, accuracy and organisation genuinely make a difference.
If you enjoy variety, solving problems and being the person who keeps everything moving behind the scenes, this could be the role for you.
The Role
We’re recruiting an Administrative Assistant to support the day to day operations of a specialist materials testing laboratory.
You’ll work closely with customers, suppliers, couriers and internal teams, supporting everything from customer enquiries and invoicing to purchasing, deliveries and dispatch.

- Raising purchase orders and processing supplier invoices
- Coordinating dispatch arrangements, including courier bookings and relevant paperwork
- Welcoming visitors and managing reception duties
- Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems
- Following up outstanding actions to keep work progressing efficiently
- Supporting the wider team with general administrative duties
What We’re Looking For
- Organised and efficient – able to manage competing priorities without losing track of important details
- Proactive – takes initiative and follows things through rather than waiting to be asked
- Detail focused – accurate with data entry, documentation and administrative processes
- Confident communicator – comfortable speaking with customers, colleagues and suppliers
- Adaptable – able to remain focused when priorities or workloads change
- Reliable and consistent – someone the wider team can depend on
- Previous experience within administration, office support or coordination
- Confident using Microsoft Office and computer based systems
- Comfortable working independently and knowing when to ask for support
Previous experience within engineering, manufacturing or a technical environment would be advantageous, but isn’t essential.
Experience with purchasing, invoicing, goods receipt or dispatch administration would also be beneficial.
The Environment
You’ll be joining an established materials testing company supporting industries including aerospace, energy and engineering.
The business operates in a professional, technical environment where accuracy, teamwork and reliability are essential.
You’ll work alongside experienced colleagues across different departments, playing an important role in keeping customer work and daily operations running efficiently.
It’s an opportunity to become a valued part of a specialist business, rather than simply another person processing paperwork.
