Want a service role where you’re trusted to get on with the job, not micromanaged?

This is a hands-on Service Technician role supporting a well-established engineering business and its dealer network. You’ll be the go-to for technical support, fault finding and on-site repairs, with a mix of field work and office-based support.

It’s not heavy call-out work. There’s no regular requirement for weekends or out-of-hours, just the occasional need to support the wider network when required.

You’ll be working with high-spec equipment, backed by proper training on the company’s product range, in a role where you’re expected to think for yourself and take ownership.

Job Role: Service Technician (Gas Safe – Commercial)
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands (B24)
Hours: Mon–Thurs 8:45am–4:45pm | Fri 8:45am–4:15pm
Remumneration: £48,000 + company vehicle, tools, workwear + training
Contract: Permanent (start ASAP)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on equipment (on-site and in-house)
  • Supporting customers and service partners with technical queries (phone/email)
  • Acting as the link between end users and internal technical teams
  • Testing faulty or returned units and components
  • Carrying out equipment conversions where required
  • Feeding back product or quality issues to internal teams (including international teams)
  • Supporting service desk activity and keeping records up to date (Sparc / Opera)
  • Assisting with general service department tasks and continuous improvement

What you’ll need:

  • Gas Safe registered (commercial)
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Experience working on gas appliances or similar equipment
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Good understanding of safe working practices
