Role Overview

You will be responsible for generating new business, managing client relationships, and driving revenue growth within the sales department. This role offers a competitive salary structure with significant earning potential based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote the brand.
  • Negotiate rates and service agreements in line with company policies.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations to potential clients.
  • Conduct thorough needs analysis to tailor freight solutions to client requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients across various freight modes (air, ocean, road).
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in freight forwarding.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and prospects.
  • Conduct sales presentations and negotiate contracts.
  • Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure service excellence.
  • Maintain accurate records in the CRM system.

Performance Targets

  • Minimum 20 calls per day to new prospects (when in the office / WFH)
  • Minimum 12 appointments per week (4 per day across 3 days, via Teams or face-to-face) Weekly reporting of sales activity and pipeline
  • Active use of CRM for tracking and follow-up
  • Minimum £51k per quarter for the first 12 months
  • 100% follow-up on all quotes or proposals within 2 working days
  • 85%+ of onboarded clients retained after 6 months
  • At least 1 additional service (mode or lane) per existing client within 6 months

Benefits

  • Base Salary: £50,000 per annum
  • Car Allowance:£500 per month added to salary
  • Commission: 10% on all generated profit.
  • Year 1 Target Earnings: £206,000 (based on performance) 4 x salary + car
