Purchasing Assistant | Permanent | Start ASAP

Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
Salary: £28,000 – £31,000 (Depending on experience)

Want a purchasing role where you’re trusted to take ownership, not just process orders?

This is a chance to join a well-established manufacturer of production machinery, supporting a busy operation where purchasing plays a key part in keeping everything moving.

You’ll be working closely with production, design and sales, making sure materials and components are in place when needed. It’s a varied role where attention to detail matters, but you’ll also be encouraged to spot improvements and make an impact.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Sourcing and purchasing materials, components and services
  • Raising and managing purchase orders, tracking deliveries and schedules
  • Maintaining supplier, pricing and product data
  • Liaising with suppliers to resolve delivery, pricing or quality issues
  • Working with internal teams to ensure stock availability
  • Maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings within the ERP system (NetSuite)
  • Monitoring stock levels and supporting inventory control
  • Identifying cost savings and process improvements

What you’ll need:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a purchasing role, ideally within manufacturing
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Confident communication and organisation skills
  • Good Excel and Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Experience using ERP systems (NetSuite beneficial)
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

What’s on offer:

  • £28,000 – £31,000 depending on experience
  • Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 5:00pm | Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Full training and support from an experienced team
  • Stable, growing manufacturing environment
