We’re recruiting an experienced FLT / Warehouse Operative to join a metals distribution and processing business in Minworth, Sutton Coldfield.

This is a permanent position from day one, offering excellent earning potential, long-term job security and the opportunity to become part of a busy operation supplying customers across a range of manufacturing industries.

You’ll be working with aluminium and metal products, using your Counterbalance FLT licence to safely move materials throughout the facility while supporting goods in, picking, packing, stock control and dispatch activities.

This is a varied, hands-on role where safety, accuracy and teamwork are essential. You’ll be trusted to work independently, support colleagues across the warehouse and help maintain the high standards the business is known for.

Job Role: Counterbalance FLT Driver / Warehouse Operative

Location: Minworth, Sutton Coldfield

Salary: £29,250 per annum (£27,040 basic plus shift allowance)

Shift Pattern:

Week 1
Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm

Week 2
Monday to Wednesday, 1:30pm – Midnight
Thursday, 1:30pm – 11:30pm

Contract Type: Permanent employment from day 1

What you’ll be doing:

• Operating Counterbalance FLT to move aluminium and metal stock safely around the facility
• Loading and unloading vehicles in line with safety procedures
• Picking, packing and preparing customer orders for dispatch
• Working accurately from sales orders and customer specifications
• Supporting goods in, stock control and warehouse operations
• Carrying out quality checks and reporting any issues immediately
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
• Completing paperwork and stock records accurately
• Assisting with stock takes and inventory management activities
• Operating additional warehouse equipment and machinery following training
• Supporting other departments when required to ensure customer deadlines are achieved

What you’ll need:

• Valid Counterbalance FLT licence and practical operating experience
• Previous warehouse, manufacturing or distribution experience
• Strong awareness of health and safety procedures
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
• Comfortable working a rotating mornings and afternoons shift pattern
