Saw Machine Operator – Permanent contract, Immediate start available!!

Location: Minworth, Birmingham

Shift Pattern: Rotating Shifts (40 Hours Per Week)

Week 1 – Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm

Week 2 – Monday to Wednesday, 1:30pm – 12:00am | Thursday, 1:30pm – 11:30pm

Salary:
£31,548.40 per year
(£28,038.40 basic salary plus shift allowance)

Job description 

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Saw Operator to join a busy manufacturing environment based in Minworth. This is a full time, long term opportunity with immediate starts available for the right candidate.

Duties Include:

  • Operating band saw machinery safely and efficiently, adhering to all health and safety standards
  • Following drawings and work orders to cut materials accurately
  • Carrying out quality checks using tapes, callipers and micrometers
  • Checking material specifications before cutting
  • Stamping and labelling finished products
  • Operating FLT trucks and jib cranes where required
  • Completing housekeeping and basic maintenance duties
  • Assisting with stock takes when required

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Saw Operator, specifically with band saws.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of cutting specifications and quality control measures.
  • Ability to lift up to 20kgs and perform manual handling tasks.
  • Team player with effective communication skills and a commitment to maintaining a clean workspace.
