Saw Operator(Schelling Machine) – (FLT Req) – Experience is essential!!

08:00am to 5:00pm (40hrs) DAYS

Salary: £28,038.40pa

Are you an experienced Saw Machine Operator looking to join a dynamic team?
We are seeking a full-time Schelling Saw Operator to work in a factory environment. Experience is essential. If you’re detail-oriented and committed to safety, we want to hear from you. You must have a Valid Counterbalance FLT Licence.

Duties:

  • Following drawings and work orders to cut materials to size and correct thickness
  • Checking materials and carrying out quality checks
  • Inspecting first off, using tape, micrometers and calliper instruments
  • Stamping and labelling finished goods
  • Checks to material allocated to be cut, length, width, thickness, spec, alloy, grain direction, lot number before cutting
  • Performs daily housekeeping including the surrounding work area and metal saw.
  • Performs stock take duties when required

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating Schelling Saw safely and efficiently, adhering to all health and safety standards.
  • Verify materials and cut plans to ensure precision before cutting.
  • Perform quality checks on cut pieces using measuring instruments.
  • Conduct daily maintenance checks on the saw and assist with housekeeping.
  • Operate fork trucks and jib cranes as required, ensuring productivity sheets are completed daily.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience saw machine operating
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of cutting specifications and quality control measures.
  • Ability to lift up to 20kgs and perform manual handling tasks.
  • Team player with effective communication skills and a commitment to maintaining a clean workspace.
