Are you looking for an exciting new career for an established and growing Waste Management company based in West Bromwich? This role could be excellent for you! My client is looking for an experienced Waste Industry Leader to join their team based in West Bromwich as Assistant Site Manager, to oversee and support the Site Manager with onsite operations

Requirements:

• Previous experience working for a Waste Management environment including hazardous & non-hazardous waste
• Adaptive, problem solving approach to daily tasks
• String attention to detail & good organization skills
• Confident communication & written skills
• Good PC skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage employees onsite & ensure all tasks including related documentation is completed correctly
• Support the site manager in planning meetings & undertaking weekly took box talks
• Manage the repairs and lolers to ensure all correct equipment is in a suitable condition (forklifts, shredder & JCB equipment)
• Ensure all uplifting & off loading of product & materials is completed
• Liaising with operatives regarding all works & recommending improvements
• Ensure the yard is kept clean, maintained, waste segregated correctly as advised by site chemists & work takes place in a safe & compliant manner
• Ensure all material received onto site is weighed as instructed by site chemists
• Ensure all PPE requirements for staff are met. If any needs to be replenished or purchased, then advise the H&S Manager
• Hold daily morning meetings with site operatives & set out daily tasks
• Provide site manager with daily report detailing any staffing or overtime requirements
• Manage visitors, contractors & suppliers ensuring health & safety compliance, conducting site inductions & providing PPE
• Monitor & resolve daily onsite issues, escalating complex matters to site manager as needed
• Ensure waste segregation & disposal compliance with site waste management plans & environmental regulations
• Managing bulk transfer yard to ensure all bays are compliant
• Ensure all waste received into the Buk Transfer is checked & any non-conformances are reported to site chemist
• Ensure a;; TFS Oily Rig shipments conform with legal requirements & all paperwork is completed correctly as well as pictures
• Liaising with Transport Manager regarding outbound requirements for all skip waste.
