Role: Quality Technician
Location: Loughborough
Pay: Up to £15.00 per hour
Overtime: 1.3x weekdays | 1.5x Saturdays & Sundays
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
Contract: 12 weeks through Your Recruiters (Agency) to start, then Fixed Term Contract to October 2026

We’re recruiting for a Quality Technician to join a busy sheet metal manufacturing site in Loughborough. This is a hands on, day shift role within a fast paced production environment where standards, accuracy and compliance genuinely matter.

This isn’t just inspection. This is systems, investigation, improvement and real involvement with production

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Carrying out first off inspections and supporting new product introductions to ensure standards are met before full production
  • Investigating internal and external quality issues and identifying root causes
  • Using structured problem solving methods to implement effective corrective actions
  • Conducting internal audits in line with ISO 9001 requirements
  • Supporting external audits and certification visits
  • Maintaining accurate inspection reports, FAIRs, control plans and quality documentation
  • Reviewing engineering drawings and specifications to ensure compliance
  • Monitoring quality data and reporting trends or recurring issues to management
  • Managing calibration records for inspection and measuring equipment
  • Working closely with fabrication, welding and engineering teams to resolve quality concerns
  • Supporting continuous improvement activities to reduce waste, rework and defects

What They’re Looking For:

Essential:

  • Good understanding of ISO 9001 quality management systems
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience using inspection and measuring equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured approach
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • IT literate, including Microsoft Office
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)

Desirable:

  • Experience within a sheet metal, fabrication or welding environment
  • Internal Auditor qualification
  • Experience writing SOPs or work instructions
  • Understanding of continuous improvement principles
  • Experience using MIE systems

You’ll need to be organised, confident raising quality concerns, and comfortable working closely with production teams to maintain high standards.
