Can you set and operate an Amada Press Brake, read engineering drawings, and work in a proper sheet metal environment?

Position: CNC Press Brake Setter / Operator

Location: Rugby

Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 4:30pm | Friday 8:00am – 3:30pm

Salary: Up to £17.00 per hour

Contract: Permanent or temp to perm considered

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CNC Press Brake Setter / Operator to join a busy, growing sheet metal engineering business in Rugby.

This is not a slow workshop where you stand on the same part every day and quietly lose the will to speak to another human.

The company provides a full in house sheet metal and engineering service, with work covering laser cutting, punching, press brake, fabrication, MIG and TIG welding, robotic welding, waterjet cutting, paint spraying and finishing.

The work is varied and includes defence related projects, vehicle related manufacturing, subcontract engineering, point of sale equipment, retail display units, and other bespoke work.

There is currently more work available than the team has hours in the day to complete, so they are looking for reliable people who can come in, settle in and add value long term.

The hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm | Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm
  • Contracted 39 hours per week paid
  • 30 minute lunch break | Two 10 minute tea breaks
  • Saturday morning overtime may be available
  • Overtime paid at 1.3x after 39 hours and weekends

What you’ll be doing

  • Setting and operating Amada CNC Press Brake machinery
  • Working from engineering drawings
  • Folding and forming sheet metal components
  • Checking angles, dimensions and quality
  • Working across varied jobs and materials
  • Using measuring equipment correctly
  • Working safely in a busy manufacturing environment
  • Supporting the wider workshop where needed

What we need from you

  • Experience setting and operating CNC Press Brake machinery
  • Experience on Amada machinery would be a strong advantage
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Able to measure, check and work accurately
  • Reliable attendance and good timekeeping
  • Able to work independently once shown the job
  • Comfortable working in a busy, hands on workshop
