Know the difference between operating a Press Brake and actually setting one? Good. We should probably talk.

We’re recruiting experienced CNC Press Brake Setter / Operators for a fantastic sheet metal manufacturer in Leicester. You’ll be working in a proper fabrication environment producing a mixture of bespoke components and repeat production work using modern CNC Press Brake machinery.

Job Title: CNC Press Brake Setter / Operator
Money: AM Shift – Up to £16.00 per hour | PM Shift – Up to £16.50 per hour (dependent on experience)
Choose your shift:

AM – Monday to Friday, 6:00am–2:00pm

OR

PM – Monday to Wednesday, 2:00pm–Midnight, Thursday 2:00pm–11:30pm, Friday OFF

Other benefits: Overtime at 1.5x after 37.5 hours, free parking, company uniform, increasing holiday entitlement, Tool Club, birthday treats and company social events.

What’s the job?

This is a genuine Setter / Operator position.

You’ll be producing precision sheet metal components from engineering drawings, setting the machine for different jobs and making sure what comes off the Press Brake is right before it moves onto the next stage of production.

Day to day, you’ll be

  • Setting and operating CNC Press Brake machinery.
  • Reading and working from engineering drawings.
  • Selecting and setting the correct tooling for different jobs.
  • Working out bend sequences.
  • Making machine adjustments and offsets where required.
  • Completing first off and ongoing quality checks.
  • Using Verniers and other measuring equipment.
  • Producing precision sheet metal components accurately to specification.
  • Checking finished parts for defects or dimensional issues.
  • Looking after your machine and keeping your working area organised.

There’s a mixture of repeat production and more involved sheet metal work, so this isn’t a role where somebody else sets everything up and you simply load parts all day.

What experience do you need?

You’ll need previous experience setting and operating CNC Press Brakes within a sheet metal, fabrication or precision engineering environment.

Experience on Safan Darley machinery would be ideal, but it isn’t essential.

If your background is on machinery such as:

  • Safan Darley
  • Amada
  • Bystronic
  • Trumpf
  • LVD
  • Or similar CNC Press Brakes

…then we’d still be interested.
