We’re recruiting an experienced Fabrication Supervisor / Team Leader for a fantastic sheet metal manufacturer in Leicestershire. This is a hands on position for someone with proper fabrication experience.

Job Title: Fabrication Supervisor – AM Shift
Money: Up to £18.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
Hours / Shifts: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm

What’s the job?

This isn’t a clipboard and pointing sort of Supervisor position.

You’ll still be hands on within the fabrication team, working across the shop floor and supporting production.

You’ll be working within a sheet metal environment covering processes including CNC Press Brake, laser cutting, welding and general fabrication.

Day to day, you’ll be:

• Working hands on across different areas of the fabrication shop.
• Supporting Welders, CNC Press Brake Setter / Operators and Laser Operators.
• Helping keep production moving efficiently throughout the shift.
• Ensuring work is completed safely and to the required quality standards.
• Reading and working from engineering drawings.
• Providing practical support when problems arise on the shop floor.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and productive working environment.
• Working closely with the wider production team to make sure priorities are understood.

You don’t need to spend every minute of the day telling people what to do.

You do need to be the sort of person who notices when something needs doing and gets it sorted.

What experience do you need?

The most important thing is having good all round sheet metal fabrication experience.

We’re looking for someone who understands the shop floor rather than somebody whose supervisory experience exists purely on a CV.

You should have:

• Great sheet metal fabrication experience.
• Good knowledge of welding and general fabrication processes.
• An understanding of CNC Press Brake work.
• An understanding of laser cutting and the wider sheet metal process.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Previous Team Leader / Supervisory experience, or clear experience of stepping up and taking responsibility.
• The confidence to make decisions and support others when required.
• A proactive, hands on approach.
