Loughborough | £37,960 per year | Full Time | Day Shift

£37,960 salary | 26 days holiday + bank holidays | 7% employer pension | 2% bonus | Life insurance 4x salary

We’re recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join the maintenance team at a large engineering and manufacturing site in Loughborough.

This is a hands on role for someone with an electrical or multi skilled maintenance background who enjoys fault finding, repairing machinery and keeping production equipment running.

You’ll be working across a varied industrial site, so you won’t be tied to one machine or one type of equipment.

What’s in it for you?

  • £37,960 per year
  • Full time day shift
  • 26 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays
  • 3 days of annual leave allocated to the Christmas shutdown
  • 7% employer pension contribution
  • 4.5% employee pension contribution
  • Life insurance at 4x annual salary
  • 2% annual bonus, based on business performance and payable once probation is completed
  • MetLife GP24
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Group Rewards Programme
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Training and development
  • 6 month probation period

What will you be doing?

You’ll be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of machinery and equipment around the site.

This will include:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance
  • Responding to breakdowns and production issues
  • Electrical fault finding and repairs
  • Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults
  • Maintaining production machinery and industrial plant
  • Working on compressed air systems
  • Maintaining vacuum plants and oil processing equipment
  • Supporting maintenance of FLTs and other site equipment
  • Inspecting machinery for wear, damage and developing faults
  • Repairing and replacing components
  • Supporting new equipment installations and machinery upgrades
  • Working from electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Updating maintenance records and job information
  • Working alongside production teams, engineers and external contractors

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone from an electrical or multi skilled maintenance background with experience working in a manufacturing, engineering, processing or industrial environment.

You’ll ideally have:

  • An Electrical or Multi Skilled Engineering apprenticeship
  • NVQ Level 3, ONC, City & Guilds or equivalent engineering qualification
  • Experience carrying out industrial maintenance
  • Good electrical fault finding skills
  • Experience working on production machinery or industrial plant
  • Mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge
  • A practical, hands on approach to fault finding
  • The ability to work independently and solve problems

You do not need to have worked on the exact machinery used at this site.

Experience from other manufacturing, processing, heavy engineering or industrial environments is absolutely relevant.

Experience with VSDs, relays, DOL or star delta starters, PLC assisted fault finding, compressed air systems, MEWPs, FLTs or overhead cranes would be useful but isn’t essential across every area.
