Job Title: Fettler

Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour (including shift allowance)

Location: Northampton

Hours: Mon – Thurs, 13:00pm – 23:30pm

This Northampton based engineering company produces high quality components across a range of industries. The workshop is modern, organised and driven by quality standards, with a strong focus on consistency and precision.

This is a hands on finishing role supporting the final stages of production before inspection or dispatch.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Deburring and fettling metal components to remove sharp edges and imperfections
• Using hand tools, grinders and finishing equipment to achieve smooth surfaces
• Removing slag, burrs and residues from manufactured parts
• Operating edge cleaning and bead blasting equipment
• Masking and protecting critical areas before finishing processes
• Inspecting parts before and after finishing to ensure quality standards are met
• Working from drawings and finishing specifications
• Maintaining a clean and organised workstation
• Supporting production flow by working closely with other departments

What You’ll Need:

• Previous experience in fettling, deburring or metal finishing (1+ year preferred)
• Experience using grinders, linishers or similar finishing tools
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to identify and correct small defects
• Understanding of workshop safety and PPE requirements
• Experience within sheet metal or fabrication environments is beneficial

Work Environment:

• Industrial production setting with exposure to machinery, dust and noise
• PPE required including gloves, safety glasses and hearing protection
• Working alongside production teams and heavy equipment
