Job Title: Quality Inspector
Location: Leicester
Pay: £15.00 per hour
Hours: Monday – Thursday, 7am – 5:15pm
Contract: Permanent

And yes, that means every Friday off.

We’re recruiting for a Quality Inspector to join a fantastic Leicester engineering manufacturer producing high quality machined and fabricated components.

You’ll be working closely with the wider manufacturing team, inspecting materials, work in progress and finished components to make sure everything leaving the site meets the required drawings, processes and technical specifications.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carrying out first off, in process and final inspections on machined and fabricated components
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Inspecting incoming materials and components from suppliers
• Using inspection and measuring equipment to confirm dimensional accuracy and product conformity
• Carrying out part audits and recording inspection results
• Identifying, segregating and documenting non conforming materials or components
• Supporting quality procedures within an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment
• Checking inspection equipment is correctly calibrated and suitable for use
• Working closely with machining, fabrication, welding and production teams to resolve quality issues
• Maintaining quality documentation and inspection records

What They’re Looking For

You’ll need previous experience within engineering inspection, mechanical engineering or a similar manufacturing quality environment.

You’ll also need:

• The ability to confidently read engineering drawings
• Experience using inspection and metrology equipment
• An understanding of tolerances and dimensional inspection
• Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills
• A methodical approach to inspection and quality documentation
• The confidence to challenge components or processes that don’t meet specification
• The ability to work effectively as part of a manufacturing team

Experience with any of the following would be a big advantage:

• CMM inspection equipment
• Romer Absolute / FARO Arm
• PC-DMIS
• ISO 9001
• Internal auditing
• Steel standards and material certification
• Machining, fabrication or welding environments
• Calibration systems and records
